Membership Application
Powerlifting Australia Membership Fees Powerlifting Australia relies on the generosity of it’s volunteers to run and manage competitions and perform various roles such as coaching, officiating, managing finances, maintaining the website, liaising with ASADA, managing memberships, and organising travel and registration for international competitions, just to name a few. This year membership fees have been increased by around $3 to cover the costs associated with running PA such as auditing, insurance and purchases of additional competition equipment. In 2007, Powerlifting Australia purchased a set of competition weights for South Australia, a number of ER Equipment bench press safety fittings from Denmark (which are now mandatory in all competitions) and carpet for platforms. Further equipment purchases are planned for 2008. Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to Powerlifting Australia during 2007 and we look forward to your continued involvement during 2008. For all new members we greatly appreciate your support and intend to serve your powerlifting pursuits to the best of our abilities. 2008 Powerlifting Australia Membership Form (Word format - 148 kB) 2008 Powerlifting Australia Membership Form (PDF format - 138 kB)* *You need the free Adobe® Reader® software to view and print pdf documents. Powerlifting Australia (PA) Membership Requirements It is a requirement of the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) and the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) that Powerlifting Australia maintains a comprehensive database of athlete contact details. PA is required to furnish athlete details on a regular basis to ASADA and our compliance in relation to up to date contact details are monitored and reported. It is for this reason the 2003 membership form was changed, also, the information asked for on the new form negated the need for tested athletes to furnish ASADA with a quarterly information report. In addition to this, volunteers administer PA and because of the distances encountered we need current contact details, especially email addresses, to be able to better service our membership. Contact by email helps to reduce the financial burden of administrating the sport in Australia. In light of this a few people are failing to fill out their membership forms correctly. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS - All members are to fill out the form in its entirety – no blanks – this includes ALL phone numbers and email addresses. If you leave a section blank then it can be taken as a deliberate attempt to withhold information and the possibility that sanctions could apply would come into effect. PHOTOS – All new members are required to provide a photo, and old members without photos on their current memberships cards WILL BE REQUIRED to provide a photo as well – once again sanctions could apply for non-compliance. The fine print on the membership form is copied below:
Member Retirement If you no longer wish to compete with Powerlifting Australia, you are required as part of the conditions of membership to advise Powerlifting Australia in writing.
